Catalina Island

Catalina

Been there many times. I was there with the YMCA camp one time, spear fishing. John took us over on an 85-foot boat he leased and he had a caterer stock up the boat with food and everything. An old girlfriend, Marilyn Mayer’s family, owned a house there and I was over there visiting her one time with my family. I sailed there with the kids in the boat, Kathy. I went over there with the big Catalina steamer and I remember my hat blew off and I cried and I guess everybody never forgot that. I remember I went over one time in a hover craft; how noisy it was. And one time we flew over in a sea plane. So, been there quite a few times. It’s basically a very small town.

It got kind of seedy there. Maybe 10 or 15 years ago I was there and it looked like just a lot of people come over from the Los Angeles area; a good place to get drunk and get rowdy. But last time I was there it looked like it changed back up.
